Challenge yourself . . .
Do you feel like you are in a funk? Waking up doing the same old thing? Not motivated to do anything? Then I challenge you to set a goal for yourself! It can be a short-term goal, a long-term goal, or both and make it for fitness and personal development!
Setting both short-term and long-term goals are good because it is a feeling of accomplishment when you reach that short-term goal, but you still have your long-term goal to strive for. Your goals could be as simple as cutting back on soda intake if you consumed a lot of soft drinks. You could take a walk for 15 minutes, spend some time reading a good book on personal development, or wake up each morning and do some stretches. The important thing to remember is if you aren't currently doing anything, any of these small changes can help you get motivated to doing something!
I recently completed my 30-day Fitness Challenge where I walked 300,000 steps in less than 30 days. Now I am starting my 90-day Fitness Challenge and will be walking a Half Marathon in 12 weeks. This goal I have set gets me excited for each day's challenge and what I have to do. Is it going to be tough? Sure . . . it is pushing me outside my current fitness comfort level, but I have a great walking plan that makes me excited to tackle each day head on and know I will succeed!
So, what about you? What's stopping you? I recently read a quote in a book I am reading, The Compound Effect, by Darren Hardy that said, "In essence, you make your choices, and then your choices make you." So true! Every choice you make will ultimately effect you in some way down the road. Only you can change the choices you have made. Let's get out there and make it happen!
